PLAYRIOT LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the EchoLearn mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. About EchoLearn

EchoLearn is an AI-powered study app that uses the Feynman Technique. Users explain concepts out loud and receive AI-graded feedback on accuracy, completeness, and clarity.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and a user identifier for authentication and progress syncing.

Voice Data: When you record an explanation, audio is captured via your device microphone and transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Only the resulting text transcript is sent to our AI service (via a secure proxy to Google Gemini) for grading. Raw audio is never transmitted or stored on our servers.

App Usage Data: Practice results, scores, streaks, XP, and challenge history are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you are signed in for sync purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide AI grading and feedback on your spoken explanations
• To generate personalized follow-up questions and expert explanations (Pro)
• To maintain your account and restore purchases across devices
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising

4. Third-Party Services

AI Grading: Text transcripts of your explanations are sent to Google Gemini API (via a secure proxy) for grading. This transmission is encrypted. Google's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.

Apple StoreKit: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs that data.

Apple Speech Recognition: Audio is transcribed on-device using SFSpeechRecognizer. Some processing may occur on Apple's servers depending on device and iOS version.

5. Device Permissions

• Microphone: Used during active recording sessions you initiate. Revocable in iOS Settings.
• Speech Recognition: Used to transcribe your spoken explanations. Revocable in iOS Settings.
• Notifications: Optional daily reminder and streak alerts. Revocable in iOS Settings.

6. Data Storage & Retention

Local data (scores, streaks, XP) persists on your device until you delete the app. If you have an account, you can request deletion by contacting us.

7. Children's Privacy

EchoLearn is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post changes at this URL and update the date above.
